Tsk, very well, Elzie, dearest, if you insist upon reading the affairs of my private journal, I really cannot stop you, but, be sure, they are frightfully boring! Although perhaps it will grant you the assurance that you can put your servants to better uses than skulking through my city. They haven't found anything as of yet, what makes you so certain they'll be finding something in the future? (And, for the record, they won't, as there is nothing to find.)

Tensions between Rowan and Nallen running higher than they have in years, this "ghost" woman still wandering through my regime with frightful abandon, the murders become more numerous and persistant, Eara's birthday less than two months away, and I must travel to Eblar, lovely, really. As usual, Lord Isaac will insist on doing little more than demanding more troops and prattling on about that whelp of his, Lord Stephan will make a sincere effort to show that he is a greater Lord Rhia than his Father ever -- well, is, but will, of course, fail, as his pathetic, melancholy bitterness colours everything he does, you, dear Elzie, will pretend that you are the voice of sanity over all of us and subtley lord secrets you may or may not actually know -- and poor Nicolas will be wishing he was home in Conare entertaining lovely young merchant women in his library and preparing for his daughter's birthday. (What a monstrousity of a sentance that was, I hope you enjoy it.) It's all nonsense, there's not a thing we can do together that we can't do apart, isn't that right?

At least Eara will enjoy the time spent with little Ethan, and the capital will be quite a sight for her. Taking a cue from you, Elzie, it's never too soon to start these things! Regardless of what my advisors want to believe, Eara is my heir, at least until they can foist another wife on me. (Who will probably die, with my track record. I wonder how it will happen this time, hm? It's something more morbid every time, virulent sickness moves to countless stab wounds which progresses to splattering on the sidewalk ...)

Dragons, I appear to have rambled. Do enjoy, Elzie, dearest, my private thoughts, for your eyes only, and no more horrid than those of any other man.

I do hope Eara will enjoy the city. It's lovely in spring, and she knows she gets presents when we take trips together.

Princess Kelita! I do hope your journey has progressed well since your stay here! You must miss your home, after so very long, the speed of the dragons to you for the remainder of your journey.
